BLACK TIME
MIDNIGHT WORLD CD (IN THE RED)
Sixteen songs of rip-off rock by British people who have the right records for no reason. “Capital of Pain” starts off the goodest part—that’s the Pagans part, and “You’re Stealing My Time” is a pink album bottom-scraper—and then there’s some more. “Midnight World” is a song learned wrong from Cramps (plus Patsy Cline lyrics), and then there’s some more after that, too. The liners list everything Black Time learned to like but didn’t learn from—they roll-call every famous rock wiener who wore black and sunglasses except maybe Richard Hell, yet KIM FOWLEY appears nowhere in capital letters? I’m now too sad to make fun of this.
