DRINK OF THE WEEK: PEANUT BUTTER BANANA OAT SMOOTHIE

If they dropped in a raw fish or some eggs, this would be the only nutritive source a healthy American adult would ever need, especially if he were tired of constant unproductive mastication—peanut butter (protein, B3 and E, antioxidants) and banana (B6, potassium); and to ruin other weaker smoothies, a good scoop of oats (iron, magnesium, fiber). And before you ask, all Viento Y Agua’s smoothies come stock vegan already, which is probably why there are no eggs and raw fish. A couple people were making faces about the oats idea—worried they were gonna clump up and clog the straw—so let me calm you down because there are no clumps or clogs of anything in these honorable little beverages; these Viento champion life smoothies adhere to a unity of consistency that verges on the philosophically uplifting, and speaking as a person who dislikes finding hairy, stringy, fruity purée survivors choking in the last puddles of his finished smoothie cup, I assure you these are smoothies put together as if they will be used as materials for classical sculpture.
