CRIMINY! GUIDE TO SUMMER
By Miles Clements

Seal Beach is known mostly for two things: the breakfast burritos at Nick’s and the city’s quaint, seaside charm. As such, Seal Beach has set some seemingly small-town limits―most notably a nighttime curfew. Perhaps inspired by the city’s geriatric population (which is asleep by sundown, remember), the ordinance requires all minors under 18 to be off the streets and out of public places by 10 p.m. Of course, it also allows for a number of exceptions: adult-supervised, citywide activities, emergencies and interstate travel, to name a few.
