First part of the story; awesome. While its sucks that his house was plowed into the fact that he convinced some cracked out gangsters that he was some mexican shaman is kickass. The cops not coming right away... pretty typical, i don't it's just the artists they do that to. Some one has to stand in front of 7-11 on pine to protect the jumbo hot dogs!!!
Second part of the story; sad. Unfortunately this is just one of many stories like it. Long Beach says they care about the art community with one flag, then raise another one to the highest bidder who is going to "revitalize" the LB, which actually means stuff money into the pockets of city officials that help them get what they want, which ultimately is more money. Eventually Long Beach will drive out all of the "riff raff" (i.e. artists, musicians, real people) and it will be a town of high rises, cookie cutter lofts, and mindless 9-5 zombies. Hurray for city government!!!!
