Angry guy attacks Iraq war critics in, like, 7 comments
Steve Lowery is better at harvesting nuts than this thing. His recent post on the decision to ban Iraq War critics from Saturday’s Long Beach Veterans Parade brought anti-antiwar critic “Raoul Deming” to thedistrictweekly.com. Deming writes, “Thank God Long Beach stood up for our veterans and keep these hate groups out of the parade.” Is he kidding? No. He says the groups banned from the parade comprise non-veterans, veterans who’ve become criminals, and other anti-Americans masquerading as vets.
Among his examples is Iraq vet and war critic Adam Kokesh, whom Deming says was thrown out of the US Marine Corps on a weapons charge.
“[D]on’t take my word for any of the above. Google is a wonderful tools to educate yourself as to who these groups really are,” Deming writes. But Google doesn’t seem easily to support a Deming’s claim vis-a-vis Kokesh. A Wikipedia entry says Kokesh is still in the military despite his criticism of the Iraq war. Kokesh’s own blog says he was honorably discharged in 2006.
Before I dig into his myriad other allegations, I asked Deming to provide something more certain to prove that Kokesh was busted; a government document would be nice. But I won’t wait up all night: take a look at his attack on one of the star’s of Steve Lowery’s dTV video on the parade, Long Beach resident, Pat Alviso. She’s the mother of an Iraq vet, but because Deming doesn’t like her politics he smears her too.
