WATT / UNDERGROUND RAILROAD TO CANDYLAND / DIOS / SAC TRUST / 400 BLOWS TONITE

Great show at La Conga (not Harold’s like I mistakenly thought) tonight to support the release of the first Underground Railroad To Candyland (Todd C.’s great new band with Toys That Kill/Full Blast members too) LP, which is very likely to be really good, and a new issue of South Bay mag The Rise And The Fall, which is always really good. Plus dios, Saccharine Trust, 400 Blows and Watt. Henry Clay @ Prospector is pretty good but this is an obliteratory line-up. Actually this is probably the last best show of 2007.

gotta tell you, world -- 'bird roughs' is a great record (perfect production by joel m and j.p.?) with about no bad songs and at least two places where it sounds like they're gonna jump into 'bastards of young' but instead they do something of their own just as rewarding. go get it at recessrecords.com or call fingerprints and tell sean you want him to order you some!

also great issue of the rise and the fall -- more messing around for thee makeout party canon! get that at myspace.com/theriseandthefall

I rarely believe--or listen--to anything Chris Ziegler says, seeing as he is the Father of all Lies (as well as the Cousin of Uncomfortably Cut Trousers.) But, for some reason--call it fate, call it a minor stroke--I found myself clicking on the "Bird Roughs" link and found that it was just as Ziegler said: great songs that got me all excited, and my heart racing and my body moving about this way and that--though, that may have been the stroke. Anyways, very good, I strongly suggest a listen.
