CurbedLA has launched its “Neighborhood of the Year” competition, a friendly battle between L.A. burgs for a fictitious cup and online bragging rights, which, as we know, mean everything. Readers can submit their opinions in the comments section until Monday when Curbed narrows down the field and sets up proper voting.

Long Beach is trudging along with a couple votes, while Eagle Rock looks to be in the lead. All I can say about Eagle Rock is that last time I was there, I was kinda-sorta mugged. It was awkward.
