According to a recent article by the Associated Press there are Nearly 3,500 Chinese Named ‘Olympics and more than 4,000 more who are named after the 2008 games’ mascots.

I love that! I wish that new parents in the US were more apt to name their children after events of local importance. I could have been named Raiders Beat Redskins Gould! Little kids in Belmont Shore would have fantastic names like Bulldogbeautypageant Jones, or Strollandsavor Mendez! I can see all of the new moms gabbing now:

Have you met little Bulldogbeautypageant? We call her Bully for short. She actually just said her first word! “Rosie!” isn’t that precious?

Oh how special! Alltomorrowsparties just started kindergarten, can you believe it!? Before I know it he’ll be a 23 year old smart ass that doesn’t call me anymore!

Pregnant people, I beg of you: show some more pride in your community! Show it when you fill out that birth certificate. Or at least use the opportunity to promote internet security.
