IGNORANCE IS BLISS
And then you die
A new survey of people in nine countries found that more than 40 percent of respondents believe a cure for AIDS is currently available, or that the virus is not life threatening. It’s hard to know how representative of worldwide opinion a poll of 4,510 individuals in the US, UK, Russia, Mexico, France, India, China, Brazil and South Africa is, but it is disturbing that more than a quarter century after the discovery of AIDS, any survey would reveal such a high level of ignorance.
