Failing upward, a core Bush value

Right on the heels of the Bush administration making disapproving noises about FEMA’s phony press conference comes news that one of the officials responsible for it has, instead of being fired, gotten a new job– head of public affairs at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. So congratulations John “Pat” Philbin, on your “amazing opportunity”! Keep up that combination of deceit and incompetence you demonstrated in the phony press conference, and you may be in line for a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Update: Apparently, in the wake of media reports on the upwardly mobile fuck-up, the DNI’s office is now “weighing” whether or not Philibin gets the job.
