FIRES DON’T CLEAR THE AIR
Bad air quality in Long Beach, and Kimora Lee Simmons
The fires still reign as the Press-Telegram’s top story today, though Kelly Puente has the local angle with a piece on air quality.
Elsewhere in the P-T, there’s more excitement: Kevin Butler writes about the Long Beach Unified School District superintendent banning teachers’ union leader Scott McVarish from a district office for allegedly threatening an administrator. Yikes!
Wendy Thomas Russell writes about changes in the Queen Mary management team–despite a recent logjam in the ship’s sale.
Oh, and Maria Shriver and Kimora Lee Simmons dedicated a playground at a charter school on Long Beach Boulevard. Simmons actually shoveled cement–which if you’ve watched her show, doesn’t seem to be something she does very often.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was supposed to be there too, but they whisked him off to tour the fire scene.
